TastePlease is a social platform that allows anyone, anywhere, anytime to search, join and create culinary events.
It is completely free to use TastePlease. You will only pay for the events you choose to join.
If you sign up using Facebook or another social media account, your TastePlease account will be set up automatically. To enter or manage your account settings, simply click the arrow next to your profile picture in the top right corner and select “Account” in the drop down menu.
The easiest way to let your friends know about TastePlease is by sharing your favourite posts or events on other social media platforms. Simply hit the “Share” button and select your prefered channel.
If you wish to create a post, go to your personal profile by clicking the profile picture in the top right corner. Here, you will have the option to add a new post and share your thoughts on anything from kale to caviar.
Yes. If you find something you like, the “Share to TP” button makes it easy to share it directly on your personal profile.
TastePlease is fully integrated with Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Google+, so you can easily share posts or events on other platforms. Simply use the “Share” button underneath a post or event and select your prefered channel.
If you like an event or post on TastePlease, you can use the “Tasty” button to show your appreciation.
The “Tasty” button is a sign of appreciation. If you find something tasty on TastePlease, it simply means that you like it.
Use the search function to find inspiring new people or follow the hosts behind your favourite events.
When you find someone you wish to follow for inspiration, simply go to their profile and click the “Follow” button.
To find an event near you, simply use the map on the front page to search for your city. You can use the filters under the map to narrow down your search, in case you are interested in a specific cuisine, price range or venue. If you have special requirements such as wheelchair access, you can also specify this in your search.
To book an event, go to the page of the event, select number of guests and click “Request booking”. If the event requires guest confirmation, you will need to wait for the host to approve your booking before it is finalized.
You can send an email invitation to your friends by clicking the “Invite” button on the event page.
The first time you book an event, you will be asked to add your credit card information in the final stage of the booking process. This information is then saved to make the payment process easier in future bookings.
You can access your payment history and manage credit card information in your account settings. Simply go to your account and select “Finances” for your payment history or “Cards” for credit card management.
When attending private events, you are expected to meet the host with respect and tolerance, and to happily comply with any house rules. More than anything, it is your responsibility as a guest to attend every event with an open mind and a positive attitude. Arriving in good spirits wherever you go will set the tone for the best social experience for everyone.
After attending an event, you will be able to rate your host and write a review of your experience on the event page.
Anyone, anywhere, anytime can host an event on TastePlease. Whether you are a professional chef, a passionate food lover, or simply an outgoing family who wish to invite guests for a lovely evening of dining and networking, it is easy to set up an event on the platform.
As a host, you are expected to do your best to offer your guests a good experience. To ensure high quality, we ask all hosts to comply with our kitchen standards regarding hygiene, storage and processing of ingredients. Click here to get acquainted with our standards.
To create an event, you need to register as a host. Click the arrow next to your profile picture in the top right corner, select “Become a host” in the drop down menu and fill out the required fields.
Once you are registered as a host, you can select “Create new event” on your profile and set up your event in a simple, three step process. First, add the general information such as location, price and number of guests. Second, add details about the menu, common allergens, etc. And third, add photos to give your guest the best possible impression of you and your event.
If you wish to approve your guests before their booking is finalized, simply select “Guest confirmation” in the first step of setting up your event.
As a host, you do not have to pay any fees. Once you have set your price for an event, TastePlease will add a small percentage to the final price for the guests to pay, but this will not affect your payout.
If you wish to cancel one of your events, simply go to the event page and select “Cancel event”
